Interdisciplinary Earth Data Alliance

Collaborations

IEDA2 continues and expands partnerships with science programs, data systems, federal agencies, and educational institutions to maximize the application and impact of our scientific reach and engagement goals.

IEDA2 collaborates and partners broadly with members of the science community, with research data and analytical facilities, and with community initiatives:

  • To maximize the utility and impact of IEDA2 data systems
  • To broaden community participation in the design, development, and operation of data services
  • To enable global networking of data resources for geochemistry, petrology, and mineralogy through consistent data best practices and technical standards
  • To promote the implementation and adoption of best practices for data sharing and use
  • To leverage resources and minimize duplication of effort in the development of research data infrastructure
  • To advance the impact of research data infrastructure for the benefit of science and society.

Ecosystem Organizations

Maintaining a thriving geochemical data ecosystem is critical in today's world where chemical information is necessary for decision-making processes in various fields. Geochemical data plays a vital role in understanding the composition and behavior of natural systems, such as mineral resources, water quality, and environmental contaminants.

By integrating geochemical data into these processes, stakeholders can gain a deeper understanding of complex issues and make informed decisions that benefit society. As the volume and complexity of geochemical data continues to increase, it becomes essential to have robust infrastructure and tools in place to manage, analyze, and share this data effectively.

A thriving geochemical data ecosystem is, therefore, crucial for unlocking the full potential of geochemical data and driving innovation in numerous important domains.
